暑い！！！

近くには緑もたくさんありますが、我が家の温度計です。

我が家の小規模の低価格太陽光発電装置は目いっぱい発電して、エアコンに電気を供給していますが（写真参照）毎日、約4kWhの発電で、日中の電力使用量の数十パーセントを自家消費しています。

もしも日本の各家庭すべてが数十パーセントずつ自家発電消費すれば、異常に暑い異常気象を和らげることができるのかもしれません。

筑後、年数が過ぎていますので、屋根部分の経年劣化でしょう。

建築物は生き物のように定期的なメンテナンスが当然必要です。

建築工事関係者の意見を聞いた後で、板金工事と屋根塗装工事を終えました。

昔の寺院などが数百年以上も耐えられるには瓦の下に雨漏りがあってもダメージを避ける工夫、すなわち丁寧な工事がおこなわれているから、とお寺の住職さんから聞いたことがあります。

総じて最近の建物の外見は立派ですが、目には見えない部分がある意味では手抜きされているのでしょう。

もちろん、支払う建築費用によりますが。

Our small building for rent (currently fully occupied) developed a leak during the rain the month before last (May 27, night).

Since the building has been in use for many years, the roof is probably deteriorating over time.

Buildings, just like living things, naturally require regular maintenance.

I have heard from a temple priest that the reason old temples and other buildings have been able to endure for hundreds of years or more is because they were carefully constructed to avoid damage even if there were leaks under the roof tiles.

In general, the exterior appearance of modern buildings is splendid, but in a sense, the parts that are not visible to the eye are probably being cut corners.

Of course, this depends on the cost of construction we pay for.

我が家にまだ残っている蛍光灯は買い替え時にはLED灯にしますが、先日16日に購入したところ、思いがけなく、広島県から省エネのための購入支援のポイントがもらえることがわかり、申請しました。

予算的には現時点ではポイント付与の余裕はあるようです（写真参照）。

We are planning to replace the few fluorescent lamps still remaining in our house with LED lighting when we replace them. When we recently made the purchase on the 16th, we unexpectedly found out that we could receive Hiroshima Prefecture's energy-saving purchase support points, so we applied for them.

Budget-wise, there seems to be room to grant the points at this point (see photo).

40年以上、毎月4回開催している尾道無料英会話道場のオフライン特別例会を先週土曜日（7月20日）に行いました。

場所は広島県三次市吉舎町の西光禅寺でした。

和尚さんはうかがった先週、そしてその前の週は台湾、東京、広島とご多忙な中でしたが、終始、慈愛と慈悲で穏やかにお迎え下さいました。

檀上和尚さんには5月に夏季のご都合を伺い、この例会日を設定、お寺にはメンバーとお参りし、2022年ノーベル生理学・医学賞を受賞されたペーボ博士との関係、禅活動などについて英語でお話をうかがい、英語での質疑応答を楽しみました。

A special offline meeting of the Onomichi Free English Conversation Dojo, which has been held four times a month for more than 40 years, was held last Saturday (July 20th).

The place was Saiko-zenji Temple in Kisa-cho, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Although he was busy traveling to Taiwan, Tokyo, and Hiroshima last week and the week before that, he welcomed us calmly with love and compassion from start to finish.

In May, I asked Priest Danjo about his availability in summertime and set this meeting date of July 20^th.

We visited the temple and listened to his talk in English about his relationship with Dr. Paavo, the 2022 Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine, and his Zen activities, and enjoyed a question-and-answer session in English.

現在、カセットテープ録音再生機とデジタル録音再生機を持っていますが、15年ほど前からギターの練習や演奏録音にはデジタル録音機を使用しています。

録音後の編集やインターネットサイトへのアップにはやはりデジタル録音再生機の方が便利です。

I currently have a cassette tape recording/playback machine and a digital recording/playback machine. I have been using a digital recording machine for guitar practice and performance recording for about 15 years.

The digital recorder is also more convenient for post editing after recording and uploading to Internet sites.

尾道在住で多くの尾道の絵を描いてきた川辺和洋氏の作品を同氏の許可を得てシリーズでご紹介します。

商用電源と自家発電電源の切り替えを自動的に行うスイッチを作りました。

太陽光発電で発電し、蓄電した電源を主電源にして、これがゼロになった場合に自動的に商用電源に切り替えるためのスイッチです。

不要の電気製品の電線とプラグ、購入したモジュールを無償の収納箱に入れて配線しただけ、ですが。

おかげさまで、テスト、作動確認では期待通りの結果になりました。

小学生の図工の時間みたいに、何かを作るのは楽しいですね。

Home-built Automatic Power Supply Switching Device:

I have made a switch that automatically switches between commercial and private power generation sources.

The switch is designed to use the power generated and stored by solar power generation as the main power source, and automatically switch to commercial power source when the former power source becomes zero.

I just wired up the wires and plugs of the unneeded electrical products and the purchased module in a free box I had been given, though.

Tests and operational checks showed that the results were as expected.

It is fun to create something, just like in elementary school arts and crafts class.

最近では中国による電気自動車の過剰生産が話題になっています。

中国ではこれまでに鉄鋼の過剰生産の問題がありました。

そして先進国でもこれまでに造船、家電製品など多くの過剰生産問題を引き起こしてきました。

過剰生産の問題は産業革命以降の人類の共通問題です。

これらの根本原因は人間や国の利己主義、おごりなどです。

過剰生産の問題は工業製品だけに限らず、食料品もその対象です。食肉の生産が大きな環境負荷になっていることは周知のとおりです。

過剰生産による繊維製品の市況不況を打破するために膨大な数の織機をハンマーで壊していた光景、使用できる自動車を買い替えと称して早期に廃棄していたのはつい最近のことです。

これらの利己的、地球に優しくない行動への反動や仕返しは必ずやってきまし、すでに世界中で現れています。

沖縄はかつて長寿日本一と賞賛されていました。（写真）

そして、1985年には平均寿命が世界1位となり、世界長寿地域宣言を発表しました。

このためか（？）、ブルーゾーン（写真）という本では世界の100歳長寿者の多い5つの地域の一つとして紹介されています。この本では長寿の秘訣は生活習慣、食事などいくつか列記されています。ただ、沖縄の場合は、戦後から1997年まで続いた離島駐在の100名以上の女性公衆衛生看護師の誠実で献身的な地域医療貢献があったということを、先日放送されたNHKテレビ「新プロジェクトクトＸ、命の離島へ 母たちの果てなき戦い」で再認識しました。（番組内容は録画保存しています。）

戦後の壊滅的な公衆衛生状態、医師不足の中でこれらの公衆衛生看護婦の沖縄の女性たちが保健婦、助産師、看護婦として懸命に働き、多くの感染病患者や幼い命を救った姿を、同世代だった私の母親（看護婦、助産師）と重ねて番組を見ました。（母も当時、保健婦として働くように勧められたようですが、私たち3人の子供の子育てで忙しく、保健婦の仕事はできなかったようです。）

しかし、現在では沖縄の平均寿命が徐々に短くなってきています。（写真）

主な原因として、急激な米国型食習慣の普及、および一世帯に3台ともいわれる自動車生活の浸透（運動不足）による肥満症や糖尿病の激増が挙げられています。

Longevity in Okinawa and the reasons for its decline:

Then, in 1985, Okinawa ranked first in the world in average life expectancy and announced its declaration as the world's longest-living region.

Perhaps because of this (?), in the book "Blue Zones" (photo), Okinawa is introduced as one of the five regions in the world with the highest number of people living to be 100 years old. The book lists several secrets to longevity, including lifestyle and diet.

However, in the case of Okinawa, I was reminded of the sincere and dedicated contribution to community health care by more than 100 female public health nurses stationed on remote islands from the postwar period until 1997 to save many infectious disease patients and newly born babies, in the NHK TV program "New Project X, To the Remote Islands of Life: Mothers' Endless Battle" that was broadcast the other day. (The program was recorded and saved.)

I watched the program and saw the Okinawan women working very hard as public health nurses, midwives, and nurses in the midst of the devastating postwar public health situation and severe doctor shortage, overlapping with my own mother (a nurse and midwife) who was of the same generation. ( My mother was also encouraged to work as a public health nurse at the time, but she was busy raising us three children and could not work as a public health nurse.)

But now, the average life expectancy in Okinawa has gradually been shortened. (Photo)

The main causes are the rapid spread of American eating habits and the dramatic increase in obesity and diabetes due to the prevalence of automobile lifestyles (lack of exercise), which is said to be three cars per household.

個人でできる環境対策、電気の地産地消、太陽光発電の100%利用 (2)：

持続性のある太陽光発電による電気は直流を交流に変換する損失（5 %）、遠くへ運ぶ時の損失（3 - 5 %）を最少にすることで、地球環境保護により大きな意味を持ちます。

自家発電し蓄電した電気は100パーセント自家消費、有効利用するのがベストです。

蓄電池からの電気がゼロになった場合には商用電源電気をバックアップとして使いますが、これは通常の電気利用の考えとは真逆です。

世界で携帯電話が主流になり、回線電話がバックアップの通信方法になっているように。

4年前、同じパソコンを同時に2台購入して、妻と私でそれぞれ使用しています。

最近、妻のパソコンの処理速度がひどく低下したということで、内蔵ディスクのHDDをSSDに、スターアップアプリの無効化など行い、快適な処理速度になりました。

SSDの値段は同一商品で数年前のほぼ半額になっていました。チップの価格低下が著しいですね。

メモリー増設は必要に応じて次の一手になるでしょう。

Four years ago, we purchased two identical computers at the same time and my wife and I each use them.

Recently, my wife's computer's processing speed had dropped severely, so we changed the internal disk from HDD to SSD, disabled star-up applications, etc., and got a comfortable processing speed.

The price of SSD was almost half of what it was a few years ago for the same product. The price drop of chips has been remarkable.

Memory expansion will be the next possible step if needed.
