日本のサッカー界をリードしてきた人、釜本邦茂さんが他界しました。

同じ姓を持つ私は自己紹介する時に、“サッカーの釜本氏とは無関係という関係です、”という文言を何度も使いました。

親戚や近所の人や釜本邦茂氏以外に釜本という姓の人を2人しか知りません。マレーシア松下に勤務していた男性で、現地で実際に会いました。もう一人はNHK岡山に勤務していた女性アナウンサーで、テレビで見ました。

釜本姓は極めて少数派です。

Mr. Kunishige Kamamoto, a man who led the Japanese soccer world, has passed away.

As a person with the same last name, I have often introduced myself by saying, "I am Kamamoto, but I am not related to Mr. Kamamoto of soccer."

Apart from Mr. Kunishige Kamamoto and my relatives or those who live in the same area I live now, I have known only two other people with the family name of Kamamoto. One is a man working for Malaysia Matsushita, who I actually met in Malaysia, and the other is a female announcer working for NHK Okayama, who I saw on TV.

The family name of Kamamoto is extremely rare.

小規模な発電・蓄電システム太陽光発電「ひまわり発電所（SFPS）」は、私たちの電力需要の100%を賄うことはできないことを理解した上で、使用電気量の20～40%を賄うために活用し、SDGｓに貢献します。

我家では電気使用量の大きい電気温水器やIHクッキングヒーターの消費電気量を含んで、昨年度2024年度一年間の月平均電気料金が約15,000円です。

現在、開発中の小規模（600W）の太陽光発電＆蓄電装置（名称；ひまわり発電所（SFPS）、設備費用；約32万円）では一日約3KWを高効率発電します。発電する電気の金額は電力会社から買電すれば月額約3,000円になりますので、その金額的占有割合は以下の通りです。

１．電気温水器やIHクッキングヒーターを含む場合：約20%（オール電化の場合）

２．電気温水器やIHクッキングヒーターを含まない場合：約30 - 40%

600Wの小さなひまわり発電所（SFPS）でも、これまで通常の4.5KWサイズ（蓄電池なし）の設備が設置できなかった家や場所で使えば、地球環境保全に貢献できます。

We should use this small-scale power generation and storage system named Sunflower Power Station (SFPS) understanding it cannot cover 100% of our electricity needs, but 20 - 40% of it, contributing to SDGs.

Including the electricity consumption of large appliances, such as electric water heaters and induction cooktops, the average monthly electricity cost at my home for the 2024 fiscal year was approximately 15,000 yen.

The small-scale solar power generation and storage system (600W) currently under development (Sunflower Power Station (SFPS), with an estimated equipment cost of 320,000 yen (about 2,000 US dollars), highly efficiently generates approximately 3 kW per day. If purchased from the power company, the cost of the electricity generated would be approximately 3,000 yen per month, resulting in the following percentage breakdown:

1. With an electric water heater and an induction cooktop: It would be approximately 20%.

Even the small 600W Sunflower Power Station (SFPS) can still contribute to environmental conservation when used in places where larger, 4.5 kW systems could not be installed.

一昨日7月6日、久しぶりに思いがけなくきれいな花束をいただきました。

依頼されていた質問＆応答式トークとギター演奏にお応えしたご褒美（？）でした。

トークは6月の2022年のノーベル医学・生理学賞受賞者のペーボ博士との遭遇と通訳作業のいきさつから始まりました。

私の20歳代から70歳代までの10年おきの仕事内容をプロジェクターで簡単に短く紹介し、その後は大半の時間を参加者の方々に質問していただき、それに答えるという形で進みました。

若い参加者を含め積極的に非常に良い多くの質問をいただき、与えられた時間を有効に使うことができました。

最後にクラシックギター曲の「禁じられた遊び」と「アルハンブラの思い出」演奏で会を閉じました。

会を企画、主催いただきました関係者の皆さんに感謝しています。

今後も元気に仕事、趣味、他を含めた生活を楽しみます。

Two days ago, on July 6, I unexpectedly received a beautiful flower bouquet for the first time in a long time.

It was a reward (?) for responding to a request to give my Q & A style talk and to perform guitar pieces.

I began my talk with recounting my encounter with Dr. Svante Pääbo, who won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, and the interpretation work for him in June.

I then briefly introduced my work over the past 50 years, from my 20s to my 70s, using a projector. For much of the time afterwards, the participants asked me questions, to which I responded.

I received many good questions, including from younger participants, and I made effective use of the allotted time.

The event concluded with my performance of the two classical guitar pieces "Forbidden Play" and "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" before the end of the meeting.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the organizers of the event.

I will continue to enjoy my life of work, hobbies, and others with good health.

梅雨明け後、晴天が続き、太陽光発電には基本的には好都合ですが、パネル温度が50度℃以上に上昇し、発電効率は低下します。

「ひまわり発電所」（SFPS、自動太陽追尾式の小型高効率太陽光発電・蓄電システム（写真、ベランダ・狭地用、見学・コピー自由）はこれまでは400Wの発電パネルを使用、試験してきましたが、7月から600Wに格上げしました、（と言っても、通常の屋根据え置き型の8分の一のサイズですが）。

600Wパネルの内、400Wパネルは主に昼間のエアコン用に、200Wパネルは電灯、テレビ、パソコンなどの家電製品用に電気を供給します。

発電した電気の内、万が一の夜中の停電用に約300Wを蓄電池に残し、発電した電気は地産地消として毎日、使い切ります。

なお、先日、このシステムをある会社の社長さんにも見学いただき、意見を交わしました。

After the rainy season ends and sunny weather continues, this is generally favorable for solar power generation. However, panel temperatures can rise above 50°C, which decreases power generation efficiency.

The 'Sunflower Power Station' (SFPS), an automated sun-tracking, small-scale, high-efficiency solar power generation and storage system for photo, balcony and narrow space use (free to view and copy), has previously employed 400W panels for testing and actual usage. However, starting in July, we upgraded them to 600W panels, (though it is only one-eighth the size of a regular roof-mounted system), the 400 W panels of which primarily supply electricity for daytime air conditioning, while the 200 W panels provide power for appliances such as lights, televisions and computers.

Approximately 300 W of the generated electricity is stored in the battery for emergency use during night-time power outages just in case and all the remaining electricity is consumed daily as part of a local production-for-local consumption model.

Additionally, recently, the president of a certain company visited me to inspect the system and we exchanged opinions with each other.

コロナ禍以降、対面での例会を完全にオンライン例会に切り替えていましたが、この度、6月度から公民館の一室を借りて2ヶ月に一度のペースで午前例会を対面例会にすることになりました。

尾道、三原、福山、世羅以外の国内遠方や海外からの参加者もありますので、オンラインを同時併用したハイブリッド式の例会になります。

新しい場所での初回（6月26日）はオンライン参加者が1名、対面参加者が7名、欠席2名でのスタートになりました。

It is the 45th year of our free mutual practical English learning and information exchange meetings.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have completely switched from face-to-face meetings to online meetings, but starting in June, we use a community center room and hold face-to-face meetings once every two months in the morning.

Since participants come from Onomichi, Mihara, Fukuyama Sera, and far-flung parts of Japan and abroad including Onomichi, Mihara, Fukuyama and Sera, the meetings will be hybrid, combining online and in-person formats.

The first meeting at the new venue on June 26 had one online participant, seven in-person participants, and two absences.

2022年のノーベル生理学・医学賞を受賞したスバンテ・ペーボ博士が広島県の日彰館高校で彼の研究内容、成果に関する講義（講演）を6月20日（金）、離日前に、行いました。

ご縁をいただき、光栄にも、私がその通訳を勤めさせていただきました。

これまでの通訳経験上、もっともハードな通訳の一つで、自身の未熟さを感じました。

博士が日本で高校生を対象に講義したのは日彰館高校が最初です。

この世界一の授業を受けることができた生徒は大変幸運でしたが、最も幸運だったのは私自身です。

今回の講義を快諾いただいた博士、そして、このようなご縁をいただきました西光禅寺の檀上和尚さんに感謝しています。

On Friday, June 20, Dr. Svante Pääbo, winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, gave a lecture on his research and achievements at Nisshōkan High School in Hiroshima Prefecture before leaving Japan.

I was honored to serve as the interpreter for this event.

Based on my previous interpreting experience, this was one of my most challenging assignments, and I recognized my inexperience.

It was Dr. Svante Pääbo's first lecture to Japanese high school students, and Nisshōkan High School was the first to host it.

The students who attended this world-class lecture were very fortunate, but I consider myself the luckiest.

I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Pääbo for giving this lecture and to the head priest of Saikō Zen Temple for making it possible.

先日、家の近くの大木の一つの幹を高さ4メートあたりから切り倒しました。

その幹にワイヤを掛け、駐車場の長方形の屋根の3辺、4ヵ所を吊り、更に防水テントを張り、写真のような駐車場を作りました。

自然木に合わせて、テント屋根の色は濃い緑色にしました。

屋根全体は木に固定した単管を支点として回転し、道上側の長辺を上下に動かすことができます。

I recently cut down one of the big trees near our house at a height of about four meters.

I hung wires from the trunk and suspended three sides of the rectangular parking lot roof at four places, then stretched a waterproof tent over it.

We chose a dark green color for the tent roof to match the natural wood.

The entire roof rotates around a single pipe fixed to a large tree. The side over the road can be moved up and down.

日本語でも同じですが、内容、表現や文法は正確であることに越したことはありません。

英語を外国語とする人、例えば私たち日本人の英語のミスをあえて（親切に）指摘してくれるネイティブの人、機会は少なく、英語を外国語として使う私たち本人がミスを少なくする努力をする以外に方法はありません。

どのような方法があり、どのように実践しているが、を先日の英検1級(&同等)資格者ネットワーク（E1N、https://www.facebook.com/groups/eiken1stgraders）ではテーマとなりました。

話し合ったその方法、実践例のいくつかですが、

１．ミスを指摘することを講師に依頼して有料で、会話訓練を重ねる。

２．自分の会話を録音して、できるだけ直後で聴きなおして、ミスを認識し、次回から同じミスを繰り返さない。

３．他人のミスを見聞きして、他山の石に学ぶ。

The same applies to Japanese, but there is nothing better than ensuring that the content, expression, and grammar are accurate. 

For English learners, such as Japanese people, there are few opportunities for native speakers to point out mistakes. Therefore, the only way to reduce mistakes is to make an effort on our own.

Methods available and how to practice them were discussed at the recent Eiken Level 1 (and equivalent) Qualification Network (E1N,

https://www.facebook.com/groups/eiken1stgraders) meeting.

Some of the methods and practical examples discussed include:

1. Paying an instructor to point out mistakes and repeatedly practicing conversation.

2. Recording one's own conversations and listening back as soon as possible to recognize mistakes and avoid repeating them in the future.

3. Observe others' mistakes and learn from them.

These are some of the methods we discussed.

コロナ禍以降、長い間、オンラインで行っている月4回の尾道無料英会話道場の例会（実用英語運用力向上とその研鑽及び情報交換）を6月から2ヶ月毎に１回を公民館の一室を利用した対面式にすることになりました。

海外や遠隔からの参加者がいますので、対面式例会の時にはパソコンやスマホを使って海外や遠隔地の参加者はオンラインで参加し、ハイブリッド式例会になります。

Since the start of the pandemic, we have been holding monthly meetings for the Onomichi Free English Conversation Dojo online four times a month. The meetings aim to improve practical English proficiency, foster skill development, and exchange information.

Starting in June, we will have in-person meetings held once in every two months in a community center.

Because some participants are from overseas or in remote locations, they will join the in-person meetings online using computers or smartphones, making it a hybrid-style meeting.

来月7月に向島の「こころ」で依頼されているQ&A式の話会で、最後にギター演奏するように打診がありましたので、承諾しました。

良く知られているクラシックギター曲2曲（ソロ演奏）、歌謡曲1曲（三重奏の1stパート演奏）を予定していますが、いずれもユーチューブの私のサイト（https://www.youtube.com/@KarlKamamoto）にアップしている曲です。

練習も必要ですので、弦を新しく張り替えて練習しています。

I have been asked to perform guitar pieces at the end of a Q&A session at Kokoro in Mukaishima next month in July, and I have agreed to perform.

5月16日の産卵開始、5月25日に7個の抱卵開始、6月6日の日中、ヒナ5匹が次々と誕生しました。

動画の前半は13時頃に3匹目のヒナが誕生した直後の様子です。また、後半はその後、約10分後に父親シジュカラが母シジュカラに餌を運び込んできた時の様子です。

卵の殻は卵のふ化後に母親が食べています。

父親シジュカラは巣の中で餌を母シジュカラに渡しますが、2匹で協力してヒナが食べられるくらいに餌を細かくしています。この時、お互いに何か会話しています。

母シジュカラはヒナとまだ孵化していない卵を抱きながら、時々数分くらい食事にも出かけます。

3日後の今日時点では、ヒナたちは親が巣箱の外に帰った時点で気づき、大きな口をあけて餌をせがんでいます。雨の中で大変です。

巣は巣箱の中ですが、巣箱は窓ガラスの外側、3メートルほど離れた我が家の庭のハナミヅキの木に設置しています。

ちょうど梅雨時期に誕生しましたので、今回のBGMは私自身の一人二重奏の「雨だれ（G.C.リンゼイ作曲」です。

Egg laying began on May 16, and the seven eggs were incubated starting on May 25. Five chicks were born one after another during the day on June 6.

The first half of the video shows the scene immediately after the third chick was born around 1:00 p.m. The second half shows the scene inside the nest about 10 minutes later, when the father tit carried food in for the mother tit.

The mother eats the eggshells immediately after hatching.

The father titmouse feeds the mother in the nest, and the two work together to break the food into small pieces so the chicks can eat it. At this time, they seem to be communicating with each other.

The mother titmouse warms the chicks and unhatched eggs, occasionally leaving the nest for a few minutes to eat.

As of today, three days later, the chicks sense when the parents return to the nest box, opening their mouths wide and begging for food. It is a very hard work for the parent birds in the rain.

The nest is inside a nest box installed on a dogwood tree in our garden, which about two meters away from the window.

Since the chicks were born during the rainy season, the background music for this episode is my own one-person performance of "Rain Drops" (composed by G.C. Lindsey).

製造業に携わっている一流の企業や大学の研究者、従業員、学生が与えられた単純なテーマに＠向って何十人もの人が、数十日の限られた日数で、数万円の限られた予算内で目標の動作をする技術を創造する姿はモノづくりの原点を表しており、私たち視聴者を魅了します。

この姿、取り組み方、考え方の対極がトランプ大統領でしょう。彼はすでに出来上がった技術、物、サービスの開発努力を理解せずに、他人の知的財産や努力をあたかも自分のもののように取引材料にして、単に金銭的な損得だけで生きている人物だからです。

On May 29, the theme was "Gorilla-chan Tarzan Long Jump," which involved throwing a small stuffed gorilla as far as possible using a rope.

Seeing top-tier companies, university researchers, and manufacturing industry employees and students work together to create technology that achieves the target function within a limited budget and timeframe despite the simplicity of the given theme embodies the essence of manufacturing and captivates us as viewers.

President Trump embodies the opposite of this approach, mindset, and way of working. He lacks an understanding of the efforts involved in developing existing technologies, products, and services. Instead, he treats others' intellectual property and efforts as if they were his own. He uses them as bargaining chips and lives solely for financial gain.

家の北側に約20メートルになった木々があります。

巨木ですので、家側に倒れたら危険ですので、先日 2025.06.02にしたから約4メートルの箇所を電動チェーンソーでカットしました。

一本の木だけでも、素人ですからケガしないように注意しながら、倒した木の枝切や幹を短く30センチ長に輪切りにする一日かかりました。

There are trees about 20 meters tall on the north side of our house.

Since they are giant trees, it would be dangerous if they fell toward the house. So, on June 2, 2025, I cut one of them at a height of about 4 meter using an electric chainsaw.

As I am an amateur, I had to be very careful not to injure myself, and it took me a whole day to cut the branches and trunk of the fallen tree into 30 cm pieces.

桜やツツジの季節が終わり、木々の緑は日一日と深まっています。

梅雨前の時期には雑草の除去に加えて庭木や垣根の剪定が必要です。

垣根にしているツツジが来年にきれいに咲くためには花が枯れて、あまり時間が経過しないうちに選定した方が良いと言われています。

ということで、先日、垣根のツツジの剪定を行いました。

The cherry and azalea season is over, and the trees are growing greener by the day.

As well as removing weeds, it is necessary to prune garden trees and hedges at this time of year before the rainy season.

Apparently, if you want azaleas used as hedges to bloom beautifully next year, it's best to trim them soon after the flowers have died.

The other day, I therefore pruned the azaleas in the hedge.

他にも問題点（理由）はありますが、これらへの対処として「ひまわり発電所」（SFPS、自動太陽追尾式の小型高効率太陽光発電・蓄電システム（写真、ベランダ・狭地用、見学・コピー自由）を提案しています。その問題点への対策は上記の⇒に記述した通りです。

1. Initial cost in the unit of 1 million yen is required ⇒ It can be self-produced for less than 0.3 million yen.

2. Danger in maintenance, costs for inspection and causing leaks ⇒ They can be solved by low and small sized system installed on balconies and vacant lots.

3. Inability to recover the original investment amount and decrease in the price of electricity sold ⇒ They can be solved by the small sized system to increase cost-effectiveness and by consuming 100% of the electricity on site without selling it.

4. Panel disposal problem ⇒ Smaller number panels of 4 to 6.

5. power generation varies depending on weather and local environment ⇒ Simple solar tracking system to increase power generation efficiency.

There are some other problems (reasons), but we propose the “Sunflower Power Station” (SFPS, a compact, high-efficiency solar power generation and storage system with automatic solar tracking (photo, for balconies and narrow lots, free to visit and copy) as a solution to these problems, which are described in ⇒ above.

これまでにお世話になった方から「今を楽しもう かい」という会で、7月6日（日）に私自身のことについて話すように依頼がありました。

来月6月上旬に、この会の主宰者、幹事の方と下打ち合わせをして備えます。

基本的には私が話したい事よりも来場いただく方々が聞きたいこと（もし、あれば）を話題にします。

テーマとしては「人生を複数回生きる、今年の目標」を考えています。

これまで何回か話しをさせていただいたことがありますが、まだ自身がそのこと自体に満足したことはありません。

太陽光発電は一般的にはパネルを屋根、平地、山地に固定設置しています。

効率的な発電を考えた場合は太陽光パネルを常に太陽に向け（太陽光追尾）、太陽光線の入射角がゼロ度（直角）の方がより良いことは誰にでも明らかですが、普及していません。その理由は以下の通りです。

１．太陽光追尾装置が高価で、費用対効果が低い。

２．重い太陽光パネル何十枚も一気に動かせる太陽光追尾装置がない。

３．強風気象に耐えられる安価な架台装置がない。

上記3つの問題に対しその対策を考え、実験し、答えを出したのが、シンプルで安価な太陽光追尾装置を備えた小規模の「ひまわり発電所」（SFPS、自動太陽追尾式の小型高効率太陽光発電・蓄電システム（写真、ベランダ・狭地用、見学・コピー自由）です。

Solar power generation generally involves installing the fixed panels on roofs, flat land or mountainous terrain.

Although it is obvious that solar panels should be always pointed towards the sun (solar tracking) at a zero-degree angle for maximum efficiency of power generation, this is not widely practiced. The reasons for this are as follows.

1. Solar tracking equipment is expensive and not cost-effective.

これまでに見学自由でコピーできる「ひまわり発電所」の発電率、蓄電率、そしてその発電された電気の使い方のなどをご紹介しました。

「ひまわり発電所」はわずか400Wの小サイズで従来の屋根据え置き型の10分の一です。

従来の屋根据え置き型の3,000 – 5,000W (3kW – 5kW)とは異なり、安価ですが、「ひまわり発電所」は発電された電気は工夫しながら大切に使う必要があります。

エアコンには給電できますが、発電及び蓄電状態によりその使用を控えなければならないこともあります。さらに、屋内給湯や料理のために長時間、大量に電気を使う設備には給電できません。

給電のオン・オフはスマホで遠隔操作でき、夜は電力会社からの電気を使用し、停電時にはひまわり発電所に蓄電された電気が使用できますので、安心です。

17日に巣の中の卵、抱卵の様子をビデオで紹介しましたが、23日に数匹が孵化しているのを両方の親が食事、餌運びに出かけた短い間に確認しました。

残りの卵の抱卵が必要ですから、メスのシジュウカラは長く巣の中にいますので、雄のシジュウカラが餌を運びます。

数日中に全てが孵化するでしょうが、この数日の時間的な違いは、約一か月後の巣立ちの時までに無くなり、ヒナたちは一斉に巣立ちます

すべての卵が孵化したら親鳥夫婦は両方で餌運びに大変忙しい毎日になります。

I posted the video of their eggs in the nest and the titmouse warming them on the 17th, and on the 23rd I confirmed that several eggs had been hatched when both parents were out eating and carrying food for a short time.

「ひまわり発電所」（SFPS、自動太陽追尾式の小型高効率太陽光発電・蓄電システム（写真、ベランダ・狭地用）は後者で、家庭内電化製品が消費する電気量の数十パーセントを自家発電電気で賄います。そして、万一の夜間停電に備えて蓄電池残量を約50%に保持します。

現在の「ひまわり発電所」は技術開発目的でテスト使用中で、400ワットと非常に小さく、自家発電と商業発電の二つの電気の共用システムです。これは二つの電気のウィン・ウィンの関係です。

二つの電気の間の必要な切り替え、すなわち自家発電電気から電力会社電気への切り替え、はスマホを使って手動で、又はシステムが自動的に行います（無発電で蓄電池残量がゼロ％になった時）。

これまでに構築されている発電所や配電網などインフラ設備を無駄にせず、有効にこれらを共用活用することは大切です。

Hybrid style off-grid (self-generation and consumption) living:

One is to completely stop the use of electricity from the power company and to generate all electricity consumed on site.

The other is to share the electricity generated by the power company and the electricity generated by ourselves (a hybrid).

The Sunflower Power Station (SFPS, a compact, high-efficiency solar power generation and storage system with automatic tracking (photo, for balconies and narrow lots)) is the latter, and generates several tens of percent of the power consumed by appliances in the home.

And the remaining storage battery capacity is maintained at approximately 50% in case of nighttime power outages.

The current Sunflower Power Plant, which is in test use for technical development purposes and very small in generation size (400W), is a shared system (a hybrid system) of two types of electricity: private and commercial power generations. It's a win-win relationship with the sharing of two types of electricity.

The necessary switching between the two types of electricity, i.e., from self-generated electricity to utility electricity, is done manually using a smartphone or automatically by the system (when there is no power generation and the remaining storage battery capacity reaches zero percent).

It is important to make effective shared use of the infrastructural facilities like the power plants and the power distribution network that have been built so far, without wasting them.

I decided to practice these after listening them at concerts and on TV.

“Sakura Sakura” has an ancient Japanese melody that touches the heartstrings.

“Nada Sou Sou” is played while paying attention to the dotted notes in the melody.

“Love Theme from Sunflower” is arranged for solo performance on the classical guitar, so pay attention to the fingering.

昨日、7日は久しぶりに雲がほとんどない快晴で、太陽光発電には絶好の日でした。

おかげで、「ひまわり発電所」（SFPS、自動太陽追尾式の小型高効率太陽光発電・蓄電システム（写真、ベランダ・狭地用）の発電率は午前8時過ぎに50%を越え、10時頃から15時頃までは70, 80%, 90%台の高率を維持、4時頃に50%台になりました。

日中は家電製品（冷蔵庫、電灯、パソコン、テレビなど）への給電をしながら同時に蓄電できましたので、太陽が沈む前の午後5時頃にはバッテリーの蓄電率が90%を越えました。

夜はバッテリーの蓄電率が50%になるまで給電を続け、その後スマホの操作で給電を止め、万が一の夜間停電に備えて蓄電率50%をキープしておきます。

NHKの2025年の新学年度語学番組は本日3月31日（月）に開始しまた。

60年以上利用していますが、実用語学勉強としてNHKの番組ほど優れたものはありません。

現在は、毎週月曜日から金曜日の午前6時台の基礎英語、英会話番組が私の好きな目覚めラジオ番組となっています。

どれだけ長く勉強しても基礎内容番組からも毎回、新しい発見があります。

優れたテキスト（有料）は準備されていますが、私はテキストを決して見ずに耳（聴く）、口（話す）、手（エア書き）だけで番組を楽しみます。

更に効果的な学習方法は15分の時間内に聞こえる当日の英語スキットの全てをノートに書き出し、テキストを作り、弱点を知り、それをすぐに克服することです。

もちろん、時には定刻に目覚めなかったり、眠り込んだりすることもあります。

NHK's 2025 language programs begin today, Monday, March 31.

I have been an NHK user for over 60 years, and nothing beats NHK's programs for practical language learning.

Currently, "Basic English" and "English Conversation" every Monday through Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. are my favorite wake-up radio shows!

No matter how much and long I study, I always learn something new from the basic content programs.

There are excellent (paid) textbooks, but I never look at the textbooks; I enjoy the programs with my ears (listening), mouth (speaking), and hands (air-writing).

An even more effective way to learn the language skills is to take notes on all the English skits of the day that I hear in a 15-minute slot, make a textbook, know my weaknesses, and work on improving them soon later.

Of course, there are times when I don't wake up on time and fall asleep.
