著作物の出版PR大作戦　Major PR Campaign for Book Publications

「イヤでも身に付く、使える英語力」と「わっ！節電虫が飛んできた！」の二つの著作物の商業出版に挑戦中です。

添付したのはそのために準備した広告2枚です。

私は、自費出版（出版費用は著者が100%負担、300冊で100万円）はしませんので、商業出版（出版費用は出版社が100%負担）を狙っていますが、予想通り、素人には大変ハードルが高く、昨年12月から大苦戦しています。

出版社は素人の著作物を無視しますから、大苦戦は当然です。しかし、幸いにも2社からはこれらの内容に関して反応をいただき、共同出版のための具体的な刊行条件をすでに受け取っています。

今回準備し添付した広告資料は、原稿なしでも出版社が内容を理解できるための資料にもなります。

私には出版を急ぐ必要はありませんので、より良い条件を求めて、ゆっくりと出版業界との交渉の過程も楽しみながら、事を進めています。

これが希望通りにゆかない場合、私自身が出版会社を通じない出版方法を考えればいいことですから。添付した広告資料はそのための資料でもあります。

I am currently working toward the commercial publication of two books: “Practical English Skills You’ll Master Whether You Like It or Not” and “Whoa! A Power-Saving Bug Just Flew In!”

Attached are two advertisements I prepared for this purpose.

I do not plan to self-publish (where the author bears 100% of the costs—1 million yen for 300 copies), so I am aiming for commercial publication (where the publisher bears 100% of the costs). However, as expected, the hurdles are extremely high for an amateur, and I have been struggling immensely since last December.

Since publishers tend to ignore works by amateurs, this struggle is to be expected. However, fortunately, I’ve received responses from two publishers regarding this content and have already received specific publication terms for a co-publishing arrangement.

The promotional materials I’ve prepared this time also serve as a reference for publishers to understand the content even without seeing the manuscript.

Since I’m in no rush to publish, I’m proceeding slowly, enjoying the negotiation process with the publishing industry while seeking better terms.

If it doesn’t work out as I expect, I can always consider self-publishing without going through a publisher. That’s why I’ve prepared these promotional materials.
