一か月前の投稿の通り、今年は「節電虫」開発物語の商業出版に挑戦しています。

出版経験のない、出版実績のない素人には出版社からの反応は0.5%以下で、ほとんどが無視されますので（当然ですが・・・）、著者が出版費用を全く負担しない商業出版はハードルが非常に高いです。

現在、ある出版社からは以下のような返事（＊）をいただいていますが、他社からの返事を今月2月末日まで待って、3月から次のステップに進みます。

20年以上をかけて記述したものですから、1年ほどの期間でこの出版計画を急いで実現する必要性は全く感じていません。

（＊）ある出版社からの返事内容：

“いただいた冒頭の原稿を拝読させていただきました。

昭和の暮らしと共に歩んだ発明の物語で、節電虫というユニークなモチーフに、深い環境哲学が息づいているように感じます。

素人でも社会に貢献できる、という力強いメッセージにも励まされ、日本語と英語の両方で伝える姿勢も含め、あらゆる面で刺激的な一冊かと存じます。

是非、出版して多くの方に届けたいと思い、３案のご提案をさせていただきます。“

As mentioned in last month's post, this year I'm taking on the challenge of having the development story of the “Setsuden-mushi” commercially published.

For amateurs with no publishing experience or track record, the response rate from publishers is less than 0.5%, and most submissions are ignored, which is natural though. Commercial publishing where the author bears no publishing costs is an extremely high hurdle.

Currently, I have received the following response (＊) from one publisher. I will wait for responses from other publishers until the end of February and proceed to the next stage starting in March.

Since this work took over 20 years to write, I do not feel any urgency to realize this publication plan in a short time of within a year or so.
