Hiroshima on August 8th

The peace memorial service for atomic-bomb victims this day every year never passes without reminding me of two brothers of my father’s who were victimized in the second World War.
One is an elder brother with no remains, having been killed at the age of 27 as a radio soldier on their way to Okinawa on ship.
The other is a younger brother who was irradiated by the atomic bomb in Hiroshima and suffered for a long time after that.
The attached article was issued on August 6th by the Chicago Tribune, one of the 3 major newspapers in USA, after the newspaper reporter interviewed Mr. Takahashi, then piece museum director, 39 years ago.
Coincidently, I interpreted their interview and the reporter mailed me the article after its publication.
