人生の寄り道、ギャップイヤー Gap year

Yesterday’s evening, NHK reported on “gap year” among the young students. In Japan, it has long been thought to be better that entering and graduating schools without the gap years, which results in that most of the students do not experience to live by themselves without their parents’ support in the real world. But that was not the case with me. I had the gap years of 5 years and a half in my tens and twenties, when I could receive what kind or persons and what would be needed in the society, how to cope with the facing difficulties (how to survive), and furthermore I got to know that most of what they learn in universities can be learned by ourselves. It was very good and useful for me to have had my gap years when young. The picture shows myself in SDSU in 1977.
