英語指導と学習(4)、実用的言語運用力習得のために　English Instruction and Learning (4): Toward Acquiring Practical Language Proficiency

外国語習得希望者が最も経済的に、時間的に習得効果を上げる方法は、海外への語学留学ではなく、外国人講師による指導でもありません。

マスメディアやインターネットの発達した今日、外国語習得の方法や教材は身近に多すぎるほどあります。取捨選択に困るほど多くありますので上手に利活用しましょう。

実用的でバランスの取れた外国語運用スキルを身につけるには、

1.  先ず、習得希望者は自分の現在のレベルを確認し、

2.  身近な教材を使用して自分の欠点や弱点を見出し、

3.  それらを克服できる習得方法を実践することです。

この一連の方法は今秋出版予定の私の本の中で記述しています。（添付した写真は、本の概要を示す画像です。）

実用的言語運用力は教えてもらうものではなく、自ら工夫して獲得するものです。

貴重な海外への語学留学、外国人講師との直接的な交流は自習で獲得した言語運用力の確認のために、そして更なるレベルアップのために使いましょう。

The most cost-effective and time-efficient way for those wishing to learn a foreign language to achieve results is neither studying abroad nor taking lessons from a foreign instructor.

In today’s world, with the advancement of mass media and the Internet, there are more than enough methods and materials for learning a foreign language readily available. Since there are so many options that it can be difficult to choose, let’s make good use of them.

To acquire practical and well-rounded foreign language skills, learners should do the followings.

1. First, those wishing to learn should assess their current level,

2. use readily available learning materials to identify their shortcomings and weaknesses,

3. and put into practice learning methods that will help them overcome these challenges.

Practical language proficiency isn’t something you’re taught—it’s something you acquire through your own ingenuity.
