シジュウカラによる巣の定期点検　Regular Nest Checks by Great Tits

6月の穏やかなひとときを、少しご紹介します。

部屋のすぐ外のハナミズキの木の設置している巣箱で、一ヶ月半ほど前に無事に９羽の子育てを終えたシジュウカラのペアが、その後、週に数回、巣のところに来て、点検しています。

よほどこの巣がお気に入りなのか、占有意識があるのか、とにかく元気な姿を見せてくれると嬉しくなります。

Here's a glimpse of a peaceful June.

In the nest box we set up in the dogwood tree right outside our room, a pair of great tits that successfully raised nine chicks about a month and a half ago has been coming back to the nest several times a week to check on it.

Whether they’re just really fond of this nest or feel a sense of ownership, it always makes us happy to see them looking so lively.
