中国でのこれまでの仕事とその後 My Work in China and Afterward

私は過去2度、1994年と1996年に繊維（絹）加工技術指導者として四川省に合計で2ヶ月ほど滞在し、南充と成都で仕事をしました。（使用言語は英語でした。）そして、2000年代には上海の日系会社のアドバイザーとして何度も往復しました。

この当時の日中関係は決して悪くはありませんでした。

一方、中国が威圧的、覇権的であることは彼らの自国・民族優越意識を背景に、ここ数十年の軍事、経済、政治面での言動で明らかです。ただ、威圧的、覇権的であることはアメリカにも言えることですが。

音楽やスポーツ面でも、今回の対日諸行動は大国のそれとは異なり、しつこく、陰湿で、子供っぽいいじめのようで、世界に広く受け入れられることはないでしょうし、逆効果で中国の評価を下げるでしょう。

少なくとも、私は現在の中国には決して行く気はしません。

I have stayed in Sichuan Province twice in the past, in 1994 and 1996, for a total of about two months to work in Nanchong and Chengdu using English as a textile (silk) processing technology instructor. Then, in the 2000s, I traveled back and forth numerous times as an advisor for a Japanese company in Shanghai.

Japan-China relations at that time were by no means bad.

On the other hand, China's intimidating and hegemonic tendencies are evident in its actions and rhetoric over recent decades, rooted in its sense of national and ethnic superiority. That said, such behavior is also attributable to the United States.

In the areas of music and sports as well, China's actions toward Japan differ from those of major powers. They are persistent, underhanded, and resemble childish bullying. They are unlikely to be widely accepted by the world and will likely backfire, lowering China's standing.

At the very least, I have absolutely no desire to visit China as it is today.
