The Collapse? of Japan's FIT System

The Collapse? of Japan's FIT System (Feed-in Tariff):

The FIT system (Feed-in Tariff) is a program that allows households with solar power generation or other self-generated electricity to sell surplus power back to the utility company when their generation exceeds consumption.

However, the purchase price offered by utilities has steadily declined, falling below half of what it used to be. Consequently, even when sellers manage to sell their electricity, it no longer generates profit; instead, it results in losses. (Household electricity selling price to utilities: approx. 30 yen/kWh > Self-generated electricity selling price to utilities: approx. 15 yen/kWh)

This is a hidden burden on citizens, cleverly engineered by the government in collusion with utilities to force households into selling electricity. Moreover, this affects households cooperating in sustainable energy supply. (See attached document.)

It has been decided that electricity bills will receive a subsidy of approximately 7,000 yen in total for just three months from January to March next year. However, as citizens, we would rather see the permanent abolition of the FIT system (Feed-in Tariff system) than such a childish measure of a small-scale subsidy.

Furthermore, solar power generation as a sustainable energy source should be implemented as a small-scale, 100% self-consumption system, independent of the FIT program (Feed-in Tariff system).
