禅　芸　　Zen Arts

先日、三次市吉舎町の西光禅寺（https://www.saikouji7advice.com/）の檀上和尚さんに来年度のご講演をお願いするために、お寺にお邪魔しました。

国際的にもよく知られ、禅芸にも詳しい和尚さんにこの言葉、その意味なども教えていただく機会にもなりました。

禅芸とは禅の精神に基づいて、絵画、書道、彫刻、建築、音楽など様々な形態で表現されるようです。

趣味としての楽器演奏時に感じるものに通じているように私は感じています。

Zen Arts:

The other day, we visited Saikō Zenji Temple (https://www.saikouji7advice.com/) in Kishachō, Miyoshi City, to ask the Reverend Danjo, the chief pries,t to give a lecture next year.

This visit provided an opportunity to learn about these words of Zen Arts and its meaning from the priest, who is well-known internationally and knowledgeable about Zen arts.

It is based on the spirit of Zen and expressed in various forms such as painting, calligraphy, sculpture, architecture, music and so on.

I feel it resonates with what I experience during my hobby of playing musical instruments.
