専門家によれば、
1.トランプの自署書簡は悪い見本そのもの。学生がいたとしたら採点は70点で不合格です。
2.トランプ氏の文法は小6並み、語彙は中1程度。
3.とにかく、口から発する一文が短い。難解な単語はほぼゼロ。
確かに、私のレベルでも聞きやすいですが、
記事の最後の節に書いてある彼が使う品位の無いカタカナ英語は筆者と同様に私も英語に訳す気にはなれません。
彼を取り巻くスタッフたちも同レベルなのでしょうか?
The attached article is a column from the August 17 edition of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper. The following is what experts say:
1. Trump's handwritten letters are a poor example. If he were a student, he would receive a score of 70 and fail.
2. Trump's grammar is on par with that of a sixth grader, and his vocabulary is at a seventh-grade level.
3. Most importantly, his sentences are short. There are almost no difficult words.
Certainly, it is easy to understand even at my level, but the katakana English he uses and mentioned in the last paragraph of the article is something neither the author nor I want to translate into English.
I wonder if the staff members surrounding him are at the same level.
