ノーベル賞受賞者との昼食 Lunch with a Nobel Prize winner

2022年のノーベル生理学・医学賞を受賞したスバンテ・ペーボ博士と博士の27年来の友人である西光禅寺の檀上和尚さんのお招きで昼食をご一緒した。

昨日19日（木）、2時間ほどの間でしたが、色々なことを話すことができ、至福のひと時でした。

本日（20日）はある高校での短い講演がに予定されており、私も通訳を兼ねて、お聴きする予定です。海外のノーベル受賞者の日本の高校での講演は初めてかもしれません。

若い高校生にとって、良い刺激になればと思っています。

I had lunch with Dr. Svante Pääbo, winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, and Zen priest Tanjo of Saikoji Temple, who has been friends with Dr. Pääbo for 27 years.

Yesterday, Thursday the 19th, we spent about two hours together, talking about various things, and it was a blissful time.

A short lecture at a high school is scheduled for today (the 20th), and I plan to attend as an interpreter for him. The lecture by a foreign  Nobel Prize winner should be the first one among Japanese high schools.

I hope it will be a good inspiration for the young high school students.
