シジュウカラの巣立ち Titmice leaving the nest

4月23，24日の両日にふ化したシジュウカラがわずか2週間半で5月11日、8羽すべて無事に巣立ちました。

今年は残念ながら彼らの巣立ちを見送ることができず、残念です。

3月初旬から2か月半ほどの間、ほとんど毎日、巣作り、産卵・抱卵、ふ化、給餌・子育てを見てきましたので、静かになった巣箱を見ると、今は少々、シジュウカラロスのような感じです。

これからは時々、飛来するシジュウカラやメジロなどの野鳥を見て、楽しみます。

After hatching on 23 and 24 April, all eight chicks left the nest safely on 11 May, only two and a half weeks later.

Unfortunately, we were unable to see them leave the nest this year.

I have watched them build their nest, lay their eggs, hatch them and feed and raise their young almost every day for the past two-and-a-half months, since early March. So, when I look at the now-quiet nest box, I feel a pang of sadness at their absence.

From now on, I will enjoy watching the titmice, white-eyes and other wild birds that fly in from time to time.
