技術は使いよう　　Use the technologies for the right purposes

“頭は使いよう、”とはよく言われることです。

技術も同じです。

小惑星探査機「はやぶさ2」の快挙はロケット技術、飛行制御技術などの技術とそれを管理できる善良で優秀な技術者と組織リーダーの成果です。

決して政治家ではありません。

技術もこのように良心的な人に使われれば人類の進歩に貢献できます。

しかし、同じ技術でもロシア、北朝鮮や中国のように他国の威嚇、自国の覇権のために良心の欠如した人が恣意的に使えば、逆効果で悲劇をもたらします。

The proverb says that let’s use our head, which means using one's brains for the right reasons.

It is also the case with technologies.

The great achievement of the asteroid explorer Hayabusa2 is the result of technology, including rocket and flight control technologies, and the good and talented engineers with their organizational leaders who can manage them.

They are no politicians.

Technology can contribute to human progress if used by such conscientious people.

However, the same technology can be counterproductive and bring tragedies if used arbitrarily by people without conscience to intimidate other countries or for their own hegemony, as in Russia, North Korea, and China.
