100英単語で67％：
英語圏の国々で使用される単語の使用頻度を一千万文例で調査したら、トップ100単語が全体の67％を占めたそうです。
NHKの英会話講師によれば英語学習者は先ずこの100単語を上手に使い、語学力をつけることが大切だ、とのことです。
もちろん、相手の言うことを正しく聴くための難しい単語の習得、そして自分自身を正しく表現し正確に理解してもらうための文法なども不可欠です。
Occupied 67% with 100 English words: 
It is said the top 100 words occupy 67% among 10 million English sentences according to the investigation on words frequency of use in English speaking countries.
An English lecturer on NHK says that it is important for the English learners to use these 100 words well at first to get better language skills.
Of course it is also necessary to learn difficult words to get the better listening skill and to master the language grammars to express ourselves correctly and to make ourselves understood precisely.
