柿食えば・・・ Persimmon

先日、海外の友人から、我が家の庭にある柿の今年の様子を聞かれました。アメリカ、インディアナ州第二の都市、フォートウェインに住む友人によれば、いわゆる甘がきはアメリカでは1個１ドルくらいで売られているとのこと。日本でも同じくらいでしょうか。あまりに身近にあると、物の価値がわからなくなります。
The other day, a foreign friend of mine asked me how the persimmons in our garden are. According to him, who is in Fort Wayne, the 2nd largest city in Indiana, one sweet persimmon costs about 1 dollar there in USA. It maybe the same in Japan as well. We sometimes lose sight of the value of the things when they are too when they are too familiar with us.
