40位 Ranked in 40th place

これは国際的な英語能力試験TOEICでの2014年度の日本の順位です（添付写真資料参照）。楽観的にこの結果をとらえて、英語圏のカナダ、インドなどでも満点（990点）には到達できていないし、日本は最下位ではなく、まだまだ伸びしろがあると考えることもできます。なお、私の位置（保持得点）はインドとカナダの間です。

Japan has been ranked in 40th place in the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) in 2014 (see the attached picture). If we take it optimistically, we understand that even Canada and India, both of which being English speaking countries, could not get full mark (990 points) and Japan is not raked at the bottom and enough room to be improved. Meanwhile, my place by TOEIC points is located somewhere between India and Canada.
