初めての安芸高田市　　First visit to Aki Takata City

先週、戦国時代の武将・中国地方（山陽道・山陰道）の武将・大名だった毛利元就でも知られているこの街を車で初めて訪ねてみました。

最近のローカルニュースでは市長と議会メンバーとのバトルが印象深いですが、きれいな自然に囲まれ、小さくこじんまりとした市庁舎など、人口約3万人の良い場所です。市庁舎に隣接してと併設されている大きなガラス張りビルディングは田舎には異様な（失礼）雰囲気です。

サイクリングは土師ダムサイクリングターミナルがあるようです。

次回はサイクリング（電動ママチャリ）目的で行ってみたいと思っています。

Last week, I visited this city for the first time by car, which is also known for Mori Motonari, a general and feudal lord in the Chugoku region (Sanyo and San'in Provinces) during the Warring States Period.

Although recent local news reports have been impressive about the battle between the mayor and members of the city council, it is a nice place to visit, surrounded by beautiful nature with a small, compact city hall, whose population is about 30,000. The big glass-walled building adjacent to the city hall has a strange (pardon the pun) atmosphere in the countryside.

For cycling, there seems to be the Haji Dam Cycling Terminal.

Next time I would like to go there for cycling (electric mama bike) purposes.
